About OCAP

The Oklahoma Certified Airport Professional program is an OAOA certification designed to reach every corner of our state. The program understands the busy nature of airport managers and employees, and strives to be accessible for all. In its virtual format, members join a Zoom call once or twice a month, culminating with an exam after a cycle is complete. Each cycle is about seven to ten sessions over the course of many months, depending on speaker availability and timeline. All OAOA members are eligible to attend any OCAP session, whether they are striving to achieve the OCAP designation or not.

mission & vision

Since the founding of OAOA, the organization has sought to create a program that helped educate our state’s airport leaders. Some of the instrumental founders of our organization included Peter van Pelt, who has championed an OCAP-like program for years. We advocate for increased access to airport knowledge, networking, and helping to connect OAOA members to the resources they need to succeed.

our impact

The first graduating class, in July 2022, had 9 members, representing 7 different airports from across the state of Oklahoma. We strive to continue to build on this momentum as we improve the program through feedback, learned experiences, and new perspectives.
