OCAP Kickoff Airport Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Welcome and orientation to the OCAP program. Overview of airport management structures, key responsibilities, and how airports interface with local, state, and federal entities.

October 16th, 2025

Airport Finance & Budgeting

  • Deep dive into airport funding sources, budgeting cycles, revenue streams (aeronautical and non-aeronautical), and financial reporting. Includes FAA AIP grants and PFCs.

October 30th, 2025

FAA Compliance & Grant Assurances

  • Covers FAA regulations, grant assurances, and compliance obligations. Participants will learn how to maintain eligibility for federal funding and avoid common pitfalls.

November 13th, 2025

Airport Operations & Safety

  • Focus on daily operations, safety management systems (SMS), NOTAMs, ARFF coordination, and seasonal challenges. Includes best practices for Part 139 airports.

December 4th, 2025

Emergency Preparedness & Incident Management

  • Scenario-based training on emergency response plans, ICS/NIMS integration, and coordination with local agencies. Includes tabletop exercises.

January 8th, 2026

Airport Planning & Environmental Regulations

  • Overview of master planning, ALP development, NEPA requirements, and environmental assessments. Includes sustainability and noise mitigation strategies.

January 22nd, 2026

Community Engagement

  • Explores leadership styles, stakeholder communication, public relations, and community outreach.

February 5th, 2026

Wildlife Hazard Management

  • Covers FAA Part 139 wildlife hazard requirements, WHMP development, mitigation strategies, and coordination with wildlife services. 

February 19th, 2026

Final Review & Exam Prep

  • Recap of all sessions, Q&A, and tips for the OCAP exam. 

February 26th, 2026

OCAP Certification Exam

  • Final assessment covering all topics. Administered virtually with proctoring. Successful completion earns OCAP certification.
