1. OPEN: The City of Ada is accepting applications for Airport Manager through August 6, 2015. Please see the attached Position Announcement. Terry Hall will be retiring on August 28, 2015 after nearly 19 years with the City of Ada. Terry has been a loyal member of OAOA for many of those years, serving in many positions including President (2002-2003). He was selected as Airport Manager of the Year in 2009. Also, Terry served as the announcer for the Ada Air Expo. We congratulate Terry and wish him the best in his retirement.
The City of Ada is accepting applications for Airport Manager through August 6, 2015. This position is responsible to oversee and coordinate the activities and operations of the municipal airport within the Public Works division, to implement program goals and objectives, and to perform a variety of administrative and technical tasks in support of the assigned area of responsibility. Individual selected should have basic knowledge of airport operation requirements and procedures. In addition, individual should have three years of increasingly responsible facility management experience, including one year of administrative responsibility, and education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in airport management, business administration, or a related field. This position offers benefits to include retirement, health, dental, and life insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and flexible spending account. 2. FILLED: The City of Muskogee let me know today that they have filled their position for Airport Manager at Davis Field. The full announcement has not been made public but will be made soon. The position came open when Garry Lynn retired earlier this month. Garry has been a devoted member of OAOA and has served in a number of positions. He is currently fulfilling his year as OAOA President. Garry was awarded two “Atta Boy” awards (2010 & 2014). Now he will have a little more time to pursue the fish. Enjoy!
3. FILLED: See UPDATE Rumor has it that the Airport Manager position at the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport has been filled. Formal announcement will be forthcoming with the new Airport Manager to begin duties on July 27. Oklahoma lost a dedicated Airport Manager when Justin Heid resigned his post at Guthrie-Edmond to accept a new position as an Airport Manager in Tennessee. His last day at Guthrie-Edmond was this past Monday. Justin served OAOA as Secretary (2013-2014) and is the current Vice President. He was honored with the Airport Manager of the Year in 2014. We wish him and his family great success in Tennessee but he will be greatly missed. UPDATE: The new Airport Manager will be Schellon Stanley who will be leaving the position of Operations Manager at Univ. of OK Max Westheimer Airport next week in order to begin her duties in Guthrie on July 27. We wish her the best in her new position.
