Stillwater Regional Airport - The Stillwater Regional Airports next project, which scheduled for bid in 2017, is the completion of the parallel taxiway with some additional add-on work which will cost around 5.8 million dollars. KSWO is working on building an office complex which will include office and storage space for TSA officials. Construction is to begin by May 1st, 2017. KSWO is 6 months into air service and is exceeding all expectations on passenger counts. The month of February has turned out to be a record-setting month in terms of passenger count.
 

Clarence E. Page Municipal Airport – Everything is in working order, nothing new to report at this time.
 

Perry Municipal Airport- The Perry airport is in the final stages of a taxiway reconstruction project. Next year they have plans to continue Taxiway construction with AIP funding. They also have a new manager, named John Anderson, who is excited to get to work and improve the Perry Airport.
 

Max Westheimer Airport – Max Westheimer Airport is preparing for a taxiway resurfacing project on all taxiways in 2018. KOUN has also recently announced hosting the 2017 AOPA Regional Fly-ins on September 8th and 9th.
 

Shawnee Regional Airport – Shawnee is currently working on building a new hangar complex which is scheduled to be completed at the beginning June 2017. The city has recently finished utility lines for the new hangar and has started to pour concrete. KSNL is also looking at starting a design only grant for a taxiway/apron project in 2018.
 

Wiley Post Airport –  Wiley Post has recently finished construction on its primary runway. KPWA next project is upgrading Taxiway Alpha with LED lights and signs.
 

Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport – KGOK just recently completed construction on an 8 unit t-hangars. They are currently in the process of building another set of 8 unit t-hangars. All gates are now keypad access only. In the future, KGOK is looking to install a new LED lighting system for the airport.
 

Will Rogers Airport – KOKC is currently 60% into the design phase of the East side terminal expansion. The cargo bay which use to be on the East side of the airport has been completely demolished to make room for the new expansion. KOKC has also started work some water damaged areas on the upper deck of the terminal. This area of construction is located in the passenger drop off area. Soon, Will Rogers Airport will begin repairs and renovations to their 2-story parking garage.
 

Chandler Regional Airport – Chandler airport has recently updated their AWOS system with federal funds from the FAA. They have also recently brought Jet A fuel to their airport. With Jet A and 100LL self-service stations, chandler airport is looking forward to serving all types of aircraft.
 

El-Reno Regional Airport – El-Reno has recently completed seal coat on their parallel taxiway. They are currently in the design phase for a new fuel system and are halfway through developing a new master plan.
 

Stroud Municipal Airport – No runway or taxiway projects at this time. Rented their last hangar space in March and they are now completely full. The city is bringing water to their hangar complex. The water project is over ¾ of the way completed.
 

Kingfisher Airport– Kingfisher airport has recently finished installing LED lights on the airport. They are currently working on adding new taxiways for hangar development.

January 2017

Stillwater Regional Airport - The Stillwater Regional Airports next project, which scheduled for 2017, is the completion of the parallel taxiway which will cost around 3.5 million dollars. KSWO is working on building an office complex which will include office space and storage space for TSA officials. KSWO is 4 months into air service and is exceeding all expectations on passenger counts. Total passenger count at the end of December was over 16,000.

Perry Municipal Airport- Perry has recently approved two private hangars to be built on property. The city is also in the decision making process of building they own set of t-hangars to rent out. Perrys future plans are to reconstruct portions of their taxiway with AIP money

Seminole Municipal Airport – Seminole Airport is working on the beginning steps to replace their 15-year-old AWOS.  They are also currently in the process of a hard stand project that is funded by the OAC.

Max Westheimer Airport Max Westheimer Airport is preparing for a taxiway resurfacing project on all taxiways in 2019. KOUN has also recently announced hosting one of the 2017 AOPA Regional Fly-ins on September 8th and 9th.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional AirportKGOK just recently signed a lease agreement to build a 8-unit t-hangar complex. They have finished a crack seal and repair on a 120X120 section of asphalt on the west side of their ramp. Guthrie has also recently purchased a new Kubota for airport use.

Will Rogers Airport KOKC is currently working on the design phase of the East side terminal expansion. Sometime by the end of this week KOKC will begin demolition of their cargo bay area to make way for the new terminal. They have also started work some water damaged areas on the upper deck of the terminal. This area of construction is located in the passenger drop off area. Soon, Will Rogers Airport will begin repairs and renovations to their 2-story parking garage.

El-Reno Regional Airport El-Reno is currently working on a crack/sealcoat for their taxiway and starting an apron extension project. Future projects for the airport involve moving their fuel tanks to an above ground location.

Sundance Airport Sundance has recently finished building new hangars and renovating their ramp area. They are also starting the process of updating their runway numbers from 17/35 to 18/36.

Stillwater Regional Airport - The Stillwater Regional Airport has recently finished installing a wildlife fence around the airport and also completed a drainage improvement project. Their partial parallel taxiway extension project has recently been completed for around one million dollars. The next project scheduled for 2017 is the completion of the parallel taxiway which will cost around 3.5 million dollars. KSWO is working on building an office complex which will include office space and storage space for TSA officals. KSWO is 42 days into air service and is exceeding all expectations on passenger counts.

Max Westheimer Airport Max Westheimer Airport celebrated 75 years of flight training and their 10th Annual Aviation Festival on October 1st, 2016. Static display aircraft included: Schnook from the Army National Guard, MC-12 from Air National Guard, Several T-6’s, a Stearman, and a visit from Senator Inhofe and his RV-8. The estimated attendance for the festival is over 3000 people. KOUN has plans to update their AWOS System.

Shawnee Regional Airport Shawnee had their Annual Aviation Airshow on October 1st,2016. The turn out was great with over 1500 people coming out to support their local airport. Aircraft included Lady Liberty (A-26), an T-28, a couple T-6’s, and eight RV-8’s preforming the airshow activity. KSNL has also signed a lease with Delta Wings Equipment, LLC, a Cessna 210 Caravan leasing company and turbine engine maintenance facility.  Delta Wings has recently broken ground on a 20,000 sq. ft. hangar and are scheduled for completing before the end of the year.

Wiley Post Airport Wiley Post Airport has started the rehab for Runway 17L. This rehab project includes; Removal and replacement of markings, Grooving the RWY, Installation on new LED lights and signs, Installation of new PAPI’s, New Segmented circle and windsock, partial and full depth repairs, and a joint rehab. A majority of these projects are 90 to 95% completed. Recently Wiley Post has also hosted Wings of Our freedom tour, Flight for Futures, and the new Honda Jet.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional AirportKGOK just recently signed a lease agreement to build a 8-unit t-hangar complex. They are also working on crack sealing and repairing a 120X120 section on the west side of their ramp. Their Fly-In was a roaring success with 1000+ people attending the event. Attractions included an A-26, free helicopter rides, young eagle flights, and more than 75 static display aircraft which flew in. The A-10, ThunderHawg, has recently left to its next destination in Boulder, Colorado.

Will Rogers Airport KOKC is currently working on the design phase of the East side terminal expansion. The terminal expansion is about 60% designed out at the current moment. They have recently finished up their Taxiway Hotel project, with everything is working order. KOKC is also about two months away from finishing up the Portland avenue alignment project. This project has expanded the two lane road into four lanes. KOKC has also recently undergone improvements to their generator systems which allows the airport to be 100% self sufficient on generator electricity.

El-Reno Regional Airport El-Reno is currently working on a crack/sealcoat for their taxiway and starting an apron extension project. Future projects for the airport involve moving their fuel tanks to an above ground location.

Max Westheimer Max Westheimer Airport has an Aviation Festival planned for October 1st, 2016 from 9am to 1pm. They are celebrating 75 years of flight training.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional AirportKGOK just recently had 2 private 50’ x 55’ hangars built.  They have also finished signing the Grant Application for FY16 “Design Only” Rehabilitation of their RWY Lighting system.  The Airport Pilot Lounge has also been completed.  Guthrie is beginning the process of crack/sealcoat and striping on the Airport parking Lot, which will include more parking spaces and better flow for traffic.  Other projects include installing gate controller on their main gate next to the terminal building and gearing up for our Community Day & Fly-In, September 24, 2016, from 9am to 3pm.

Will Rogers Airport - Will Rogers recently opened a new rental car facility to the north of the airport. The rental facility is currently serving 9 companies and over 70,000 customers per month. Projects for Taxiway Charlie and Gulf have now been completely finished, improvements include updating the surface from asphalt to concrete. Taxiway Hotel is currently undergoing the same process and is just over 75% complete. KOKC has also recently undergone improvements to their generator systems. During power outages the airport can now be 100% self sufficient on generator electricity.

January 2016

Chandler Regional Airport –   Chandler has completed the construction of 5 small hangars and 3 executive hangars.  They are currently leasing them out and have a few still available.

Max Westheimer – Nothing new to report at this time.      

Stillwater Regional Airport  - Stillwater Regional has received grants for a new wildlife fence and a prep site for a new hangar building.   They are underway with terminal improvements that includes updating their restrooms to code, replacing carpet, and reconfiguring offices.  

Seminole Municipal Airport – Seminole is one of the GA airports getting a hard stand funded by the OAC.  They are also out to bid on a new AWOS.

Stroud Municipal Airport – They are finished with the construction of 8 T-hangars and a large box hangar.  They are currently filling the T-hangars but are still looking for someone to occupy the large hangar, preferably an FBO.  Stroud also installed a beacon at the airfield.  Their next Fly-in is scheduled for May 14th, 2016.

Cushing Municipal Airport – Runway 18/36 is now open.  It had to be shut down for some length do to shifting concrete because of the heat and weather.  The OAC assisted in fixing the damage to the runway. Cushing has their new AWOS installed.  They also are hoping to get new runway lights later in the year.  Cushing is also trying to mitigate the increase in drone use with the many pipeline surveyors that use Cushing Airport often.

Shawnee Regional Airport – Shawnee will be starting on the install and relocation of an AWOS III, removal and replacement of their rotating beacon and tower, and installation of four 40 ft apron lights.  SNL will also begin their OAC funded hard stand very soon.  SNL has also signed a lease with Delta Wings Equipment, LLC, a Cessna 210 Caravan leasing company and turbine engine maintenance facility.  Delta Wings is building a 20,000 sq ft hangar on airport property.

Wiley Post Airport – PWA is starting Phase II of their electrical upgrades and airfield improvements project.  They are construction a temporary turn around on RWY 35L for the larger jets while RWY 17/35R is down for construction.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport –  Rwy 16/34 rehab and marking is complete.  Section of taxiway A is also complete.  The installed ODAL system is complete an awaiting to be flight checked by the FAA.  KGOK is in the process of building two box hangars and are hopeful to be complete by April.  Pilot lounge construction is currently in progress and construction is likely to be complete by the end of February.

Will Rogers Airport  - Will Rogers released the design plans for the expanded terminal last September.  The new expansion includes a new security checkpoint, concessions, and space for future air service including six new gates.   The Oklahoma City Airport Trust also approved plans to replace a Radar Training Facility Control Center at Mike Monroney.

El-Reno Regional Airport – Nothing new to report for El-Reno.

Sundance Airport – Nothing new to report.

Prague Municipal Airport – Prague has finished installing a new chain link perimeter fence around the airport.  Their fuel tank has been installed and their self-serve pump is now operational.

JULY, 2015

Chandler Regional Airport –Chandler has poured the pads for their 8 T-hangars. The frames our being erected and they should be completed in the next few weeks.

Max Westheimer –Rwy 3/21 rehab and safety area project is mostly complete and the runway is back open. Runway 17/35 closed on July 7th for crack seal, seal and remark. It should open at the end of July.

Stillwater Regional Airport - Stillwater Regional is opening bids on July 27th for their wildlife security fencing and SE hangar development projects. Bid opening for their terminal remodel, gate and holding area mods are on August 3rd.

Seminole Municipal Airport – Seminole has installed new fuel tanks and are going out for bid for a self serve fuel pump.

Stroud Municipal Airport –Stroud has completed installing a parallel taxiway in order to accommodate a new FBO they are still currently negotiating terms with. They are about halfway done with building 8 T-hangars and a large box hangar.

Cushing Municipal Airport – Runway 18/36 had to be shut down for some length do to shifting concrete because of the heat and weather. The City of Cushing has patched the damaged areas and have the runway back open. They have talked with the OAC about taking emergency measures in order to get the runway back to a state structural integrity. Cushing also has been approved to install a new AWOS with Federal assistance.

Shawnee Regional Airport – Shawnee has awarded a contract to Libra Electric Company to install and relocate an AWOS III, remove and replace the rotating beacon and tower, and install four 40 ft apron lights. SNL also had 21 runway and threshold lights replaced from a lightning strike.

Wiley Post Airport – PWA will be conducting the final acceptance of their Phase I Airfield Improvement Project within the next few weeks.  Phase I included home run consolidation, the rehabilitation of RWY 17R/35L, electrical upgrades including circuits, lights, and signs, to the airfield west of RWY 17L/35R, added REILs to RWY 17R/35L and installed and commissioned new PAPIs on 17R/35L.  They have also been authorized to purchase and install new automatic sliding glass doors serving the terminal building.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional AirportGuthrie-Edmond is underway with their ODALs project, runway and taxiway pavement maintenance, joint sealant, and repainting of the markings.  They also have hired Schellon Stanley as their new Manager. Runway 16/34 will be closed for the duration of construction.

Will Rogers Airport - OKC will be opening bids on July 28 for concrete apron repair for flight operations at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. OKC has added another 28 days to the construction duration of the replacement of asphalt portions of taxiways C and G with concrete. They have also added 298 days to the Consolidation Rental Car Facility Construction Contract. Expected completion date is February of 2016.

El-Reno Regional Airport – El-Reno is currently looking for funding to rehabilitate the main apron, and to crack seal, seal coat, and remark the asphalt section of the parallel taxiway.

Sundance Airport – Sundance has just opened up for lease 40 newly built T-hangars. Once the new T-hangars have some occupancy, they are looking to build 40 more T-hangars with the possibility of adding condos to them.

Prague Municipal Airport – The drainage improvements around their runway are complete. Replacing the perimeter fence with chain link fencing is underway and should be complete in a few weeks. Their fuel farm project is complete. Fuel farm project consisted of new fuel tanks and a self serve fueling pump.    

 

 

JANUARY, 2015

Chandler Regional Airport –Chandler has sent out requests for bids for the assembly of an 8 unit T-hangar. Bids are due in February and they look to have the T-hangar built by May of 2015.

Max Westheimer –Rwy 3/21 rehab and safety area project is still underway. However, weather has delayed the progress.

Stillwater Regional Airport - Stillwater is still waiting authorization for their development for SE hangar development area, airfield drainage improvements, and a wildlife fencing projects. They are also in the RFQ phase for architectural services for terminal expansion and associated design services. Stillwater saw a 7.5 percent increase in operations making it the fourth busiest airport in Oklahoma in 2014. They are in efforts to determine the feasibility of attracting a regional carrier.

Seminole Municipal Airport – Seminole’s asphalt runway overlay is now complete and the runway is back open.

Stroud Municipal Airport –Stroud has completed installing a parallel taxiway in order to accommodate a new FBO they are still currently negotiating terms with. They are about halfway done with building 8 T-hangars and a large box hangar.

Cushing Municipal Airport –Cushing is in the middle of crack sealing runway 18/36. They are also submitting applications and documents to get Federal funding for a new AWOS.

Shawnee Regional Airport – Shawnee just installed a brand new security camera system. Red Cloud Aviation, LLC just signed a lease with SNL to provide minor and major aircraft maintenance, multi-engine flight instruction, and aircraft management. SNL is also still waiting for approval for FAA funded projects that include installing a new rotating beacon, a new AWOS, and lighting at the main apron in front of the terminal.

Wiley Post Airport – Wiley Post is still in full swing with their parallel runway rehabilitation and electrical project.

Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport – A pipeline company just completed the construction of an 80x10 ft hangar. A new flight school has been approved to operate at the airport. The taxiway C reconstruction and NW development area projects have been complete. As of now, Guthrie-Edmond has space for two eight unit T-hangars to be built as well as space for large commercial hangars.

Will Rogers - Will Rogers saw a record number of passengers in 2014. They saw a 5 percent increase from 2013, bringing their enplanements and deplanements to a total of 3.8 million.

El-Reno Regional Airport – El-Reno’s airport is working on efforts to pour a new main apron. They are also launching a new website for the airport.

Sundance Airport - No report given.

Prague Municipal Airport – Prague is about 75% complete on improving the drainage around their runway. Replacing the perimeter fence with chain link fencing will commence shortly after the drainage project is complete. Their fuel farm project is currently progressing. The fuel tank has been put in place and they are currently doing the electrical work to configure the self serve fuel pump.

SHAWNEE REGIONAL AIRPORT

 

OCTOBER, 2014

 

Chandler Regional Airport –Chandler is going out for bids for an 8 unit t-hangar.

Max Westheimer –Rwy 3/21 rehab and safety area began Oct. 14th. This is a $2.5 million project. October 24the is OUN’s annual aviation breakfast and October 25th is their annual aviation festival.

Stillwater Regional Airport - Stillwater has submitted two EPD packets to the FAA for site development for SE hangar development area, airfield drainage improvements, and a wildlife fencing project. Stillwater is also replacing the Rwy 22 VASI light system with a new 4 box PAPI light system. They have also installed a new state of the art Frequentis smart3020x Air Traffic Control Tower voice switch.

Seminole Municipal Airport – Seminole began overlaying their entire runway with asphalt the week of Oct. 13. Construction is planned to take 45 days. Their runway will be shutdown during the entire time of construction.

Stroud Municipal Airport –Stroud is still in the works of installing a parallel taxiway in order to accommodate a new FBO they are currently negotiating terms with.

Cushing Municipal Airport –Cushing has plans to crack seal runway 18/36.

Shawnee Regional Airport – Shawnee held it’s annual fly in and air show Oct 4th. Attendance was well over what was expected. Shawnee also hosted the annual International Cessna 120-140 Association conference the week of Oct. 6th. More than 30 cessna 120s and 140s attended. SNL is also submitting early project development packets to fund projects that include installing a new rotating beacon, installing a new AWOS, and installing lighting around the main apron in front of the terminal.

Wiley Post Airport – N/A

Edmond-Guthrie Regional Airport – Edmond Guthrie is wrapping up their NW development, taxiway C, and PAPI project.  They have completed a crack and seal job in the hangar area, are are close to receiving the plans for the terminal addition of a pilots lounge, and are in the design phase for an ODAL project and a runway/taxiway pavement project.  They also just held our community day fly in on September 20th.  It has grown significantly every year.

El-Reno Regional Airport – El-Reno’s airport has just hired a new airport manager. His name is Frasier Dougherty.

Sundance Airport - Sundance is under new management. The new manager is Mark Bravo. Sundance had their Ford Tri-Motor event Sept. 25th as well as the 36th Annual Okie Derby Efficiency Rally on August 16th. Sundance just began construction on 40 new t-hangars. Also, they are in the works of getting a restaurant built at the airport.

Prague Municipal Airport – Prague has received AIP funding to do dirt work to improve drainage on the airport. They are replacing the perimeter fence with chain link fencing. They are also currently installing a fuel farm that includes a 24 hr self serve fuel pumps.

JULY, 2014

Chandler Regional Airport – Runway re-surfacing project has been completed. New hangar apron project is also complete. Chandler is going out for bids for an 8 unit t-hangar.

Max Westheimer – has submitted an application for state and federal funds to rehabilitate runwy 3/21. A private developer has committed to build a new bulk hangar on the airfield that will be able to house 2 to 3 jets. Commander Aircraft Corporation has chosen Max Westheimer to locate their new service and manufacturing headquarter operations. Commander was once headquartered at Wiley Post but left in 2005.

Stillwater Regional Airport - Stillwater has completed the following projects:
Crack-seal, sealcoat, and remarking of taxiway Bravo, Alpha 1, and the intersection of 17/35 & 4/22
Reconstructed south terminal parking area with concrete
Replace VASI light system with PAPIs on rwy 22

Upcoming projects:
Replace existing underground fuel tank with as second above ground 12,000 gal tank.

Site development and design for an area to accommodate up to 17 additional t-hangars.

 

Seminole Municipal Airport – Installing a new fuel system including new fuel tanks at their fuel farm. Future projects include overlaying their existing runway with asphalt. To begin early next year.

 

Stroud Municipal Airport – Stroud is building an 8 unit T-hangar facility and one bulk hangar. They are also in the works of installing a parallel taxiway in order to accommodate a new FBO they are currently negotiating terms with. Stroud reports that negations have been very positive.

 

Cushing Municipal Airport – Cushing has finished rehabilitating their main apron. Next priority is to crack seal runway 18/36

 

Shawnee Regional Airport – Repairing railing and cast iron wheels on southern most row of t-hangars. They are coating the ceiling of their largest bulk hangar with spray foam insulation. Shawnee is negotiating terms with an Air Tractor service center maintenance facility. Center would be located in one of SNL’s existing bulk hangars and would be the first of its kind in Oklahoma.

 

Wiley Post Airport – PWA is getting ready to accept bids for an airfield infrastructure repair/improvement project. The project will consist of pavement resurfacing, re-marking, airfield circuit upgrades, new lighting, and a new home run.

 

Edmond-Guthrie Regional Airport – A local aviation business is constructing a 100’ X 80’ hangar on the airfield. Current construction projects include the NW development area, PAPI light rewiring, and the taxiway C rehabilitation which is scheduled to be completed in early August. They also are hosting a community day fly-in September 20th. They are also looking to add a 24 hour pilot’s lounge and restrooms very soon.

 

Will Rogers - OKC is consolidating their rental car facilities into one concentrated area. They are also continuing their terminal expansion which includes adding east concourses and additional gates.
